Although the Hijra community is a small part of the total population of Bangladesh, this community has been known as a neglected and backward group since recent times. The government has taken this program with the aim of ensuring the family, socioeconomic, educational system, accommodation, health development and social security of these people who are victims of discriminatory behavior in the society, bringing them into the mainstream of the society and involving them in the overall development of the country. According to the survey of the Department of Social Services, the number of transgenders in Bangladesh is about 10 thousand. 114 Hijras have been identified in Bhola district so far. Identification is in progress.
This program started as a pilot program in 7 districts of the country from 2012-2013 financial year. This program has been launched in Bhola district in the financial year 2013-14.
Aims and Objectives :
Providing stipends at 4 levels (primary 700, secondary 800, higher secondary 1000 and higher 1200 taka per month) in order to educate and develop school-going hijra students;

The education stipend and training programs of this program are being implemented with the help of the departmental social service office, district social service office and upazila and city social service offices under the departmental social service office and the existing manpower and department, district and upazila administration and with the support of public representatives.

Service Delivery Procedures ( In Brief ):
Subject to receipt of allotment (Bhola Sadar/ Daulatkhan/ Borhanuddin/ Lalmohan/ Tajumuddin/ Charfashan/ Manpura) Upazila / City Social Service Officer publishes circular. Then apply for the scholarship online. Application link: //mis.bhata.gov.bd/onlineApplication The received application is scrutinized by the union/municipal committee on the spot and sent to the upazila committee in the form of a proposal. Then the upazila committee scrutinizes and selects the beneficiaries according to the allocation. Data entry in MIS in the name of the selected person, opening of Mobile Financial Service 'Cash' account, verification and dispatch of payroll from field office. Allowance is remitted to Beneficiary's mobile/bank through EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) through GTU (Government to Person) method through Ibus++ subject to approval of remitted payroll.
Time required to receive service :
1. Within 03 months of application subject to receipt of new allotment;
2. In case of old or regular 07 working days
